Training Your Dog to Be the Best Dog Ever

At Best Friends Bed and Biscuit, we believe that there is a direct link between successful dog training and the relationship between you and your dog. When you choose us for dog training in Greensboro, we’ll take the time to understand all facets of your relationship with your dog, their personality, your needs, and your lifestyle. From there, we’ll design a custom training program and help you choose the most effective techniques and tools to meet your goals.

When possible, we recommend training puppies as young as possible to start them off on the right paw in life. This leads to a confined, well-behaved dog who is easy to include in all areas of your life. Our balanced approach to training includes teaching new concepts with positive reinforcement through fun and games. Your dog will love our process and gain more respect for you and the rest of their pack.

We offer five-session private lesson programs as well as a board and train program.

Private Lessons

Helping puppies start their lives on the right paw is one of our most important services. With our puppy private lessons, both you and your dog will learn several things to help you enjoy a happy, mutually rewarding relationship throughout their life. Some of the things you’ll learn during puppy training lessons include:
  • Which house training steps will teach your puppy to eliminate outside the quickest
  • How to train your puppy to ring bells when they need to potty outside
  • How to teach your puppy to be content in the crate
  • How to teach your puppy not to jump and nip
  • How much and how often to feed your puppy
  • How long and how often to exercise your puppy
  • How best to socialize your puppy with people, new dogs, and new environments
  • How to stop your puppy from pulling on the leash
  • How to get your puppy to stop picking up every piece of trash on the ground
  • How to teach your puppy to respond to our core list of foundation commands including come, heel, sit-stay, down-stay, place, quiet, and off
  • How best to play with your dog to help with motivation and engagement in the training process

Training Your Dog to Be the Best Dog Ever

If you have a senior puppy or adult dog, we’ll begin by determining their prior knowledge. Once we know where they are starting from, we can determine which pieces of their foundation need to be enhanced and what commands they need to learn from scratch.

We can also help with behavioral issues like separation anxiety, fearfulness or aggression toward people, new dogs, noises, cars, and other scary things in their environment.

Board and Train Programs

Our board and train programs are the perfect solution for busy people. Your puppy or adult dog will receive a proper education, and at the end of two to four weeks, they’ll return with a brand-new set of skills to show off.

Trainer Julie Atchison has more than 20 years of professional dog training experience and is a 2013 National Protection Champion and three-time World Championship Competitor. She has had tremendous success helping wayward dogs get back on track. She also enjoys giving puppies a headstart in life with excellent training and is adept at helping pet parents understand the world from their dogs’ point of view.
